Zolt is built for teams, not just individuals. Every task in Zolt is a collaboration space: your teammates can be assigned to it, leave comments, attach files, and track every change over time. This guide covers all the ways you and your team can work together inside Zolt — so conversations stay attached to the work they’re about, and nothing gets lost in a side channel.

Assigning Tasks

Assigning a task makes clear who is responsible for getting it done. You can assign a task to one team member or to multiple people when ownership is shared. To assign a task:
  1. Open the task by clicking its name in any project view.
  2. In the task detail panel, click the Assignee field.
  3. Type a teammate’s name or email address and select them from the dropdown. Repeat to add more assignees.
  4. To set a due date, click the Due Date field and choose a date from the calendar picker.
The assigned team members will receive a notification letting them know the task is in their queue. Assigned tasks also appear in each member’s My Tasks widget on their dashboard. To remove an assignee, open the task, click their avatar in the Assignee field, and select Remove.

Comments and Mentions

Every task has a comment thread where your team can discuss details, ask questions, and share updates — all without leaving Zolt. Adding a Comment
  1. Open the task and scroll to the Activity & Comments section at the bottom of the detail panel.
  2. Click the comment input field and type your message.
  3. Press Enter (or click Post) to publish it.
Comments support basic formatting including bold, italics, inline code, and bulleted lists. Using @Mentions Type @ followed by a teammate’s name anywhere in a comment to notify them directly. They’ll receive a notification with a link to the task and your comment, so they can respond in context. You can also mention an entire team by typing @ and selecting a team name, which notifies all members of that team at once.
Use @mentions in task comments instead of sending separate messages in chat or email. This keeps the full conversation attached to the task, so anyone who joins the project later can read the complete history without needing to hunt through external threads.

File Attachments

You can attach files directly to a task or to the project itself — design mockups, briefs, spreadsheets, screenshots, or any other supporting material. Attaching a file to a task:
  • Drag and drop — Drag a file from your computer directly onto the open task detail panel. It attaches automatically.
  • Browse to upload — Click the Attach File button (paperclip icon) in the task detail panel, then select a file from your device.
Attached files appear in the Attachments section of the task and are visible to all project members. Click any attachment to preview it inline or download it. Zolt supports attachments up to 250 MB per file. For larger assets, consider linking to an external file storage URL in a task comment.

Activity History

Zolt automatically logs every change made to a task — who changed what, and when. This creates a complete audit trail so your team always has full visibility into how a task evolved. To view a task’s activity history:
  1. Open the task detail panel.
  2. Scroll to the Activity & Comments section.
  3. Toggle Show History to display system-generated log entries alongside comments.
The log captures the following events:
  • Task created
  • Title or description edited
  • Assignees added or removed
  • Due date set, changed, or removed
  • Status changed
  • Files attached or deleted
  • Comments posted or deleted
Each entry shows the team member’s name, the action taken, and the exact timestamp. You can filter the activity view to show only comments, only history, or both.

Real-Time Updates

Zolt pushes changes live to everyone viewing a project or task — no manual refresh needed. When a teammate updates a task status, posts a comment, or moves a card on the board, you’ll see the change appear on your screen within seconds. This means the board, list, and calendar views always reflect the current state of your project, making it easy to coordinate during busy sprints or fast-moving situations without stepping on each other’s work.
